LAOS
When you leave, don't worry that you find it difficult to summarize your experiences in "The Jewel of Southeast Asia"; many travelers come away from Laos with only a vague sense that they'd like to return and do so quickly before that special "something" is gone. Fear not, though, for change comes slowly, and the genuine smiles of Laos's kind people endure. We offer a number of programs and adventures in Laos, but most people want to visit the ancient capital in Luang Prabang.
Luang Prabang
You can fly to the old royal Lao city of Luang Prabang in Lao Peoples Democratic Republic fro Bangkok or Chiang Mai. A World Heritage Site since 1994, your time in this delightful spot will be the high point of your entire trip.
On arrival, our local host will meet and transfer you to your accommodations and once checked in, begin exploring straight away visiting this magic place and getting your bearings. During your stay, our local host will spend a morning (or afternoon if you wish) with local transport taking you to the former palace of the Lao kings, now a museum, and a local weaving village and co-op. Also, our host will join you early one morning to go out before breakfast to witness the procession of monks that encircle the old city every morning at 6 o'clock collecting alms. And, on one evening we arrange for your attendance at the "royal opera", a grand experience on the grounds of the old palace. There are several more options, including taking in the Pak Ou Caves, depending on the length of your stay. |
